About Larry Lander
My path through life has always been focused on helping others overcome their challenges. I myself have been helped by counselling to overcome challenges including divorce, job change and helping aging parents.
I have a Master degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary. My graduate work focused on wise aging and counselling older adults and their families through the emotional challenges of aging, sickness and end of life.
In Rabbinical school, I continued graduate counselling studies, specializing in marriage enrichment, couples counselling, issues of separation and divorce. I have worked at Whitby Psychiatric Hospital as Chaplain, with a keen interest in mental illness and addiction.
Over the last thirty years I have served communities in Brampton, London and Winnipeg. Individuals, couples and families have come to my office for counselling and support. Together we unpacked the hard feelings, identified the fundamental problems and figured out a way forward to a happier, more honest and more confident life. Through the tears, truth telling and insights I supported each person as they made discoveries about themselves and tried new solutions to old problems.
Finding the Right Fit
Successful counselling requires trust and comfort. Therapy and counselling are very personal in nature and it’s important that there is a good fit between you and the person you choose to guide you through this process. For this reason, I offer a free phone consultation to learn more about your challenges, answer your questions and together begin to outline a way forward.
